What version of C5.6 branch is most compatible with addons?

We are looking to upgrade some old C5 sites, with lots of addons, some custom addons.
Moving to C5.7 not possible at this moent but wondering what version oc the 5.6 branch is most compatible with existing addons?
Another way to ask this question - was there a version of 5.6.x that broke a lot of stuff?

It would depend on the addons you have. try updating AFTER backing up your database. The latest version is usually the most secure but compatibility with add ons may be a consideration.
