Which Add-On to Use for My Website

I am working on building a website for my youth basketball club and we are wanting to be able to use PayPal (or another similar company) to allow families to pay player fees (between $250 and $450) on our website as well as putting up an online store to sell apparel on. I looked at the various options and I am uncertain which would be best. Obviously we don't want to spend hundreds of dollars buying add-ons, but we also are not trying to go cheap either. I want it to look good, be fairly user friendly (both for me the designer and the purchaser).

Is PayPal the best (I realize they have name recognition which is good in my book)? Do I need the e-commerce add-on? What is the difference between the PayPal standard and the PayPal Pro. THANKS AHEAD OF TIME!

I would recommend this light-weight alternative to the core commerce solution: Ecommerce Express. It allows you to add as many products as you want, which you could use for both types of things that you're looking for. It works with PayPal, too. It's only $35! Check it out:

Hope this helps.

Paypal Standard is free, Paypal Pro is $30.00 a month with a couple of extra bits.
