2 questions about care and feeding of website
Permalink
I've built a pretty nice 25 page website with about 10,000 words. However, it was all WYSIWYG based on how intuitive C5 is. My knowledge of what's behind it is pathetically small. So I have 2 somewhat elementary questions:
1) I would like to change my admin password. I tried looking in the control panael, didn't initially find it in the dashboard, misinterpreted something I read on the forum, changed my password in myphpadmin which disconnected me from the server and caused a series of events that almost blew up my website. All is well, now. I have now found a way to do it in the dashboard and would like someone with more knowledge than me to confirm that if I do the following instructions, I will successfully change my admin password without doing harm to my website or access to it. What I have found is Dashboard>Search Users>Admin>Edit User>Change my Password and Confirm>Update User. Is this the correct way to change my admin password?
2) Given the above, I have also discovered that I don't have a back-up for the website. If I do the following, will I have a backed-up website that will be available to restore it to its previous condition should the site be hacked, corrupted, damaged or need to be reloaded? Dashboard>Back & Restore> Back-Up Database>Run Back-Up.
I want to do the right things, but the events previously described combined with my lack of technical knowledge makes me a little gun shy.
Thanks for your help.

You will receive an email with instructions and a link to a page that will allow you to choose a new password.
2) This will only make a backup of your database, not your files & folders,
You may be able to create a zip archive of your files & folders from your hosting companies control panel?
