Add-on process is incredibly confusing!

I may get a lot of flack for this post but...oh well.

I tried to add the following add-on...http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/form-tableless-layout/

As much as some of you may think the process here is just dandy...let me tell you it's confusing!

First off it's asking me to specify whether I want to Add One or Add Five to my cart. If it's Free what difference does it make? There is no explanation of the significance of either choice to me anywhere on the page.

Secondly do I now have to come back and download the add-on every single time I now want to use it on a site even though it is free? If so...that makes no sense and is an unnecessary hassle.

I am then asked to Assign a licence and given the option of assigning it to a web site that pops up (presumably the website I registered at the forum with...don't know how it got my website address exactly but it's there) or Download without assigning.

The page in question is titled..."Save for Later". Save what for later??

Then it says "Assign cart contents to project..." before presenting me with an "Assign Licence" button. Do I have two assignments here? One assigning cart contents and another assigning license? What does it mean to assign cart contents to a project? What project? I didn't start no project. And what if I want to change the license from one project (whatever that is) to a different project, can I do that?

It also says I can Download without Assigning. I think I can figure that one out but what about the next line "If you'd like to access these add-ons for a site without a project page...". What is a project page?? What project page? I just want the Add-on for my site. What's with project anything?

Oh...there's a Save button down there. Hmm...the page is called
Save for Later so does that mean that I can come back later sometime and download said Add-on, Saving it in the meantime or something for...well...later download I suppose? Why would I want to do that?

Can you see how confusing this one page alone is never mind anything else?

Granted...I can figure things out myself well enough but I am just pointing out how confusing this is and must be for people who are not accustomed to having to decipher these types of things.

Don't take it personally...just hear what I am saying and take it to heart for what it's worth.

Oh..I almost forgot...after Assigning and Downloading and Saving I went to look for the Add-on in the packages directories and well it was no where to be found. Am still looking LOL.

Carlos

PS. Oh...I see. Apparently I am supposed to Download in a separate step from Assigning and Saving (huh?) the License for later (huh?). But now that I have this zip file where exactly do I put it? /concrete/packages/, /packages/, /concrete/blocks/, /blocks?? Is it a bird, a plane...I mean a block, a package, or a page type? Who knows (I am being fascitious).

Ha ha I was thinking about the same thing...

I find it very confusing to.

But a project is you site.

The one thing that i do need an explanation on is how to install that add on... It does not show op in the add on menu on the project site..

All great resources to learn working with C5.

Default options can't cover all circumstances, especially when marketing for agencies, independent developers, and individual site owners :(
That's why I have really enjoyed learning from these posts and the documentation :-)
Free licenses I've downloaded/archived to my desktop for the convenience of having it right there when building a new site (yep, unzip, modify to suit my needs, ftp to packages, activate from the site)but *** if you take the extra step of assigning it from your project page (also accessible from the "my account" link on top left of concrete5.org)you'll find it easier to update if there is a bug fix or new version released.

This one did it for me though:)

http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/form-tableless-layout/...

Put the zip file (unzip it first) in the folder package inside your concrete5 site (you can use filezilla, and you ftp information Usually
Host:ftp.domainname.com
User:domainname.com
code:xxxxx)

conrete/package/(package name here) Just uploade it unzipped.

Then when you go to the site with the form you will have to click the edit page in the conrete topbar.

Click on the form to edith it, and press the template button in the top bar, choose the tabeless layout, and the form will become scrapped for styling.

Now you can edith it throug your css in your theme, or you can locate the layout of forms in SAMPLE_OUTPUT.html

or change the html in

YOURSITE/packages/form_tableless_layout/blocks/form/templates/tableless_layout.php

If you need to know the id´s for the form right click on the site with the form at choose "show source code" locate something like this
"
<div id="formblock63" class="formblock">
<form enctype="multipart/form-data" id="miniSurveyView63" class="miniSurveyView" method="post" action="/index.php?cID=77&amp;bID=63&amp;arHandle=Main+%3A+Layout+2+%3A+Cell+1&ccm_toke

hod=submit_form#1312642762">
   <div class="fields">
               <div class="field field-text">
            <label  for="form63_question1">
               Navn                           </label>
            <input id="form63_question1" name="Question1" type="text" value="" />         </div>
               <div class="field field-text">
            <label  for="form63_question2">
               E-mail                                 <span class="required">*</span>
                           </label>
            <input id="form63_question2" name="Question2" type="text" value="" />         </div>
               <div class="field field-text">

One of the important things is
id="form63_question3"
and this is one of the things you can begin styling on.
