Bad upgrade and having trouble reverting

So I was upgrading a site and accidentally tried installing 5.6 on a 5.4.2.2 install. That completely broke the site so I can't access dashboard or anything.
I want to actually install 5.5, but I tried following directions here about updating my config/site.php file to look for the new versionhttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/troublesh...
but I still can't get it to bring anything of my site back.

I get this error:
An Unexpected Error Occured
Invalid Task Permission

Please help!
Thanks much.

Did you ever figure anything out for this? I'm working through the same issue.

Yes, I have 2 sites that are broken as a result of updating. No clue how to fix them.

I had an issue with one. I fixed it by repairing the database. My second site, when I went to repair the database like the first site, I'm getting the same problem as you are:
An Unexpected Error Occured
Invalid Task Permission

My site is totally gone. I can get into cpanel, but no one can see my site.

Someone ... Anyone ... HELP!!!!!
