c5 5.5.2.1 won't install properly

tried installing through simple scripts and ran into problems where a whole folder is missing. helper files, library , etc...

This is the exact message when I went to the browser to look for the site and this was after I got a message from Simple Scripts that the install was fine :: " Warning: require_once(/home/shell123/public_html/concrete/config/../helpers/file.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/shell123/public_html/concrete/libraries/loader.php on line 268

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/shell123/public_html/concrete/config/../helpers/file.php' (include_path='/home/shell123/public_html/libraries/3rdparty:/home/shell123/public_html/concrete/config/../libraries/3rdparty:.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/shell123/public_html/concrete/libraries/loader.php on line 268"

So I downloaded it from sourcforge and tried it again manually (uploading whole zip file and unpacking on the server ) same problem.

I unzipped the file on my hard drive and there -it's got the folders but there are no files in: blocks, controllers, elements, files, helpers..

Ok so then there is an additional "concrete" folder in the main folder of "concrete5.5.2.1" and there are all the folders - with the files: blocks, config, controllers, css, elements etc...

any clean way to fix this?

any body else run into this problem. Should I try simple scripts again with a lower version?

OK I got a work around going.

I chatted with HostGator and asked if there were special permissions that I might not be aware of - my contact there, didn't think there was anything special, but he checked it out and made sure all was OK.

Then I went back and first I deleted the "Concrete" folder in the "public_html" directory.

I went back and did a reinstall ( #5) through Simple scripts, -

I allowed the reinstall to overwrite existing files.

Then I opened the "concrete" folder in the "public_html"directory and looked at all the folders there - and compared them to my downloaded version sitting on my desktop.
Note - I went into concrte5.5.2.1 -
then opened the folder " concrete"
everything that was in that folder that was missing on the server - I copied and put in a folder called "missing" that I created and then zipped the file.
I uploaded the file to the server under : public_html/concrete

I unpacked it - then I had to move all the folders up into that directory: public_html/concrete (because when it was unpacked it was in the folder - "missing" as this was the fastest way to get everything up all at once )

Once that was done - I went to my browser and put in the url: http://www.shellymarasco.com and up came the Concrete5 site! woo hoooooo

let's hope that did it.
the new version is interesting... ! I like it - I don't think it will take much time getting used to it.

If anybody can shed some light on this process - would be glad to hear it, but this was my quick and easy way out of the problem.
thanks!!
