C5 and GoDaddy (Unix)

I have a client who currently has a site with GoDaddy (Unix). I'd like to implement Concrete5 for them. Does it play well with GoDaddy/Unix?

Thanks,
Chris

Unix/Linux yes. GoDaddy, kinda. There are issues with getting pretty URL's to work though I believe. Though that may have been resolved...I'm not sure. If not, it will run, your URL's will just look likewww.www.site.com/index.php/page-name... rather thanhttp://www.site.com/page-name

Personally I have had bad experience with bluehost (especially since there new managers came in and the whole worm situation) as well as find several problems with go daddy on the support end.

Its weird there aren't that many good reliable hosting companies providing c5 unless of course you use c5 hosting.

I personally trust Host Gator. There support has improved tremendously, plus with the pretty urls not working it can cause a bit of problems especially if you skin your own error pages.

Hope this helps.

I agree with ThemeGuru about HostGator. I've always used them and have had no issues. Everything works right, and it's pretty fast.

I thought Host Gator was using Bluehost for their framework. Maybe I'm thinking Host Monster...
