Can Safe Mode be Disabled without access to php.ini? Can't upload files.

Hi everyone,

I've recently transferred a C5 website running GREAT on my server - to a new (old) server. Now it's broken *GASP*. (Actually it's all good except I can't upload files).

It's not 777 permissions. I think I need to disable safe mode, so that sub-directories can be created in the /files directories.

But I don't have access to php.ini

Does anyone know of a different approach? I think it's impossible with .htaccess. I've heard rumors that there's a setting somewhere in concrete that can be adjusted for situations like this, but I'm not savvy to it.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks all and have a great day! :)

Please contact your hosting company.

We had a client who had blacksun and we had to talk with the support for over an hour just to get concrete5 installed.

Thanks.

I have submitted a support ticket with them and given up on the phone. Just playing the waiting game. I feel like there's always a work around, but ... maybe not?

Personally their hosting is pretty much locked down. It took several days just to eliminate the errors.

You might want to consider looking elsewhere for hosting. Hostgator is great to setup.

I 100% agree. This has been an exception to the rule and is quite the story.

Anyway, we've eventually got it working. Seems to be okay now.

Thanks for the input,

Best Regards,
