Can not change admin password?

I was able to install this excellent CMS but it seems I have a java script problem. I can not call or view the admin in users. i also can not add groups? The install went okay all green checks?? Any ideas? Oh I also notice the image buttons have a gap in them only in dashboard.. Thanks
