Can't view a link in a forum post

I'm logged in and when I click on a link in a forum post I am sent to the login page. I login and the same thing happens again. The thread is:

and the specific link is the one given by Ollie on Nov. 12th.
Does this mean the link is no longer available?

it means that you don't have enough permissions.
Hmm - I wonder why I would need special permissions - can't you or anyone read that link? Another forum member sent me the link and it opens.
with the new site the search got changed around so that link isn't valid anymore
