Can't login to Dashboard on live site

Hi there,

Been developing a Concrete site on a local LAMP server and everything works beautifully. We've taken the site live, but have now encountered the problem that we can't log in to the dashboard. The whole interface just seems to "hang" and on browsing to other pages on the website during this the pages don't load either.

Anyone have an idea where I can look for the problem?

Thought we solved it with a reupload of the db, but the problem is back. Any help is much appreciated.

can you provide any more detailed? What's it hanging on? have you tried to re-upload the /concrete directory to the server? have you cleared the site cache?

It's an odd problem.

When we try to login to the dashboard, like normal, firefox's progress bar goes to 50% and just spins its little wheel forever and ever, and it eventually times out. Page just never loads. Sometimes you are logged in after that.

We've done multiple uploads of the site, and cleared cache. We can login sometimes. but it seems quite random.

Once the site eventually logs in everything works fine and responds quickly.

As a test we swapped the DB connection info to our local development server, the problem seemed to disappear. And swapping back to the remote DB it continued to work, but the next day the login stopped working again.

I turned off the page statistics having read a post about a big DB query when there is alot of traffic to the site. Didn't help though.

Something is very dodgy somewhere and we have limited access to the host environment. I don't even know what type of DB problem it might be, any ideas?

The techies at the host would probaly not be able to help unless we spoon feed them waht is wrong, so sad.

Dropped the db and re-imported it and it seemed to work again. But can't login at the moment.

I think its a problem on the host then. Hmmm.
