Changed Login in to Email now can't log in

Hi,
I have just finished installing the new site and I changed the login to email and now can't log in although I am using the email address that I set.
How can I manually change this and where would it be held in the php/css/less files and within which folder please??

Are you trying to change the email address, or the setting for login with email address? Also, are you using 5.6 or 5.7?

I am using C5.7.5.8 I was signing in as admin but changed it to log in by email and now cannot log in. I am the only user. Can I change an php file somewhere? I am getting desperate...

I'm assuming you want to change it back to login with username, since you didn't say. If that is what you are wanting to do you can go to your /application/config/generated_overrides/concrete.php and change user -> registration -> email_registration to false and it will let you login with your username again.
Im just curious, how do I enable logging in with email instead of user name? I've always wondered how to do that...
Dashboard -> System & Settings -> Public Registration check box for "Use emails for login"

Brilliant just what I needed at 5am uk time! Thank you so much for that gem of information! I have changed it back. The strange thing is that I was using the correct email so maybe I was mistyping or something. I will need to change it back to email when I let users log on.
