Concrete 5 site is extremely slow
Permalink
Hi all,
I have a concrete 5 site that is on Godaddy and it is running extremely slow. And at times it even times out/errors out when loading.
I cleared the cache and it seemed to speed up but it is slow. When I turn caching off, it seems to stop erroring out or timing out but it is still slow.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Hesam

VPS is the best way to go, but if money is a huge concern, I have found Hostgator to be a decent cheap option.
You are running out of memory. Hostgator and Bluehost are likely better options, but if you wanted to know the specific spot, it would likely either be a page list or navigation list.
I've also had good luck with Hostpapa and A2Hosting.
To clarify mlky's post, if you hard-coded your page list or autonav's out (in HTML) instead of building them dynamically (via the autonav or page list blocks) per page request, that could speed things up.
You will without a doubt be happier if you switch to a better host though.

I have a client who uses their shared hosting, and their site is rather slow, too. I don't believe there's a whole lot you can do in terms of speeding it up - UNLESS you upgraded your hosting to a better, faster option.
