For the thumbs in File Manager try selecting the images then select Rescan from the little drop down box up top.
I'd agree with tallacman, try clearing your cache too!

Thanks very much for these suggestions. For some reason it was something to do with the install of the custom theme. The theme hadn't been properly activated so it wasn't pulling in the necessary links. However the CSS is all fine now as is the pretty urls but the images are still not linking into the file manager. I have tried rescanning as suggested by pvernaglia but still no joy. There are a lot of images so I don't want to have to re-import them all...any ideas??

Hadn't downloaded files from the remote server and then uploaded again to the new server. Easy to forget this one as the images are imported to the server from the dashboard not via ftp. Forgot there were a whole load of pics there...all working now thanks everyone

I am having the same problem, tried all the things mentioned on moving of sites, my front page shows, have de-activated pretty URLs some stuff work, my images if I rescan it it doesnt show,

This site has been moved hence all the problems, please help
