Domain name transfer
Permalink 1 user found helpful
I bought my domain name with domainname.com Now I want to create my website with concrete 5. How do I transfer my domain name (jaynemorgan.com) to concrete 5 and it still be the same name?
If you're hosting with us (you have a URL of something.c5host.com) there's a way to "park domain" from your Dashboard > Server Support tab.
or private message me for more help.

I've parked my domain, but the system still directs to domain.c5host.com. I am a novice user. Please provide step-by-step instructions on how to access configuration in dashboard to change site over to my domainname.com. This default c5host address has impacted google searches to my site. Thanks

I signed on with Concrete5 for hosting. I am using a domain registered elsewhere and have already set the DNS to use the concrete5 nameserver.
Now, when I go to my site, I am not able to use any of the pre-existing links (except to home). When I click on About or Blog or Search, I receive a 404 error?
Any ideas how to fix this? Do I need to make some change in cPanel?
Thanks.
Just realized that I had set "Use pretty urls, but had not added the code suggested. Was that the problem?

You do not need to "transfer" the domain name to your host (though many will allow you to) but you will need to login to your domain registrar and point the domain to a web host.
You will need to purchase hosting for the Concrete5 CMS. You can use Concrete5.org's hosting, or any number of other places.
Ask around on the forums for the best place to host (You'll probably hear concrete5, hostgator, monsterhost etc.) Some people use their domain registrar (like GoDaddy) to host their files. Prices range from a few dollars a month to hundreds depending on the quality / size / plan / server type / customer service.
Hope this helps to answer your questions.
