DreamHost Root access

I am ready to buy some server space on DreamHost and am wondering if i want to install 4 concrete5 sites do i need Root Access (via sudo) and Remote Reboot? If so would i be getting the VPS server if not just the shared. Do you think that is enough?

Hi stephenfjohnson

I can't think of any reason why you would need root access to install Concrete sites, that is unless you're going for all the sites sharing the same core.

I use httpd.conf modifications to manage our multi-site setup for which you'd need root.

If they're all individual sites then shared should be fine unless you have any other specific requirements.

If this helps, don't forget to mark it as an answer.

Just a heads up on Dreamhost. For some reason my concrete5 sites there get hacked every so often. I dont know the server specifics of why this happens. Ive moved all my c5 sites to other servers.
