Easy (hopefully) Install Question

Hey all,

Quick question. I installed Concrete5 at my host, where I have a bunch of other CMS's installed. I'm sticking with Concrete5. I can access the site atwww.www.sitename.com/concrete5,... but I need to be able to access it from justhttp://www.sitename.com. What do I need to do to make this happen? I'd like to keep all of my concrete5 files in the concrete5 folder. I also turned on the clean url functionality and updated my .htaccess file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

OK...I just ended up moving the site to the root following the instructions I found on the forum. Works great. Would still be interested in knowing if I can run it from a subdirectory, but maybe that's not really possible without doing a redirect.

Since you discovered "I can access the site athttp://www.sitename.com/concrete..."... umm, what do you mean when you ask if you can run it from a subdirectory?

That is, wasn't that what you were doing already?

I'm a C5 & CMS rookie and just installed to a subdirectory today. Sounds like i have the same issue as kaline in that it's possible to view my home page if you type in the full URL with subdirectory, but if you only type in the domain name, it doesn't redirect - it just shows my hosts default ad page.

So I think the question kaline was asking is: how do you get a home page to show up when it's been installed into a subdirectory? Have been searching around for about 30 min and can't seem to find an answer, although my intuition says there is some very easy answer since this must be a fairly common problem.

Thanks to anyone who can help get me pointed in the right direction.
