Sorry but i'm a total newbie with this. I have installed c5 and ecommerce. The ecommerce install included the sample duch products. I deleted thee products and deleted teh duck sale page that was linked from the home page on install. I have just added a new product, for the page option I selected "catalog". When I go to my page though the product I entered is not visible. It just says no products found. What am I missing here?
You have to tell each product which page it is assigned to from the ecommerce backend, otherwise the catalog block can't find it. So basically you need to set Product block into it's page, then set product details to that same page where the block is. Then the catalog block will pick up all products in the pages beneath it. Hope I helped. :-)
If you check the Documentation tab in the market place where you purchased the ecommerce, there are Great "How-to's" to help you out.
Also, In the meanwhile, you can place items manually. Don't select a page from the dashboard.... instead, edit a page and add a product block right to the page where you want it.

Problem with that is the catalog doesn't pick up items that don't have pages defined in the product details. As far as I know anyway.
Is it possible to set all products by default to show up on the catalog page? I'm using the product importer, and would like for the most recently added products to be shown when customers go to that page. I set "catalog" to be my default parent page, but when I go to edit product list on the catalog site and choose get products from under this page, no products show up. any help would be greatly appreciated.
to further clarify, Id like on the catalog page I'd like for it to display the products, and allow the customer to click on an individual product for more information
Problem has been solved. Was an issue with a page not being created for each product imported.
