Error 403 when logging in as editor

I'm new to C5. I searched through the forum but couldn't find the answer. I set up a user group called editor and set permissions to be able to edit pages. I created a user and assigned him as editor. Let's call him Joe. When I log in to the dashboard as Joe, I get the 403 error. If I login to the index.php/login page, then it brings me to the main site but does not show the toolbar, thus I cannot edit anything. If I log in as admin, then all appears fine.

How do I set up a user or group so they can edit the content but not see all the admin backend. I want them to login, and see the toolbar on the site so they can edit.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Only the "admin" super user or members of the "admin" group would get access to the dashboard. In order to have a member of the "editor" group be able to edit a page, you would need to change the page permissions and assign edit privileges to the "editor" group. If these permissions are assigned correctly, the "joe" user should see and edit bar on the page they have permission to edit.

There are likely a few other permissions you'll need to configure too, such as the ability to add additional blocks, the ability to use the file manager etc. A read through the documentation on permissions might be useful.

Thanks for the help. I thought I had assigned the user to the editor group, but that's what I missed. Now it's all set correctly. Thanks again.
