Error in Support for C5 Request URLs

I've uploaded C5.4.1 to my LAMP host running PHP5. I've made the files/ and config/ folders writeable per the forum guide. I'm getting this error on the installation page:

Concrete cannot parse the PATH_INFO or ORIG_PATH_INFO information provided by your server.

Does this mean C5 can't find my installation folder?

This is host specific issue, and fairly common, one that I've had myself and was able to get past using REQUEST_URI and a small site hack.

But there's plenty of info here.

I'm not a php programmer so don't know what REQUEST_URI and a small site hack means. My host is Godaddy. Their helpdesk won't help on this issue since its not one of the apps they support. Advice I saw in the thread you mention also doesn't work. Does this mean Goaddy is not the right host for C5? Other threads seem to suggest this.

I've no experience of GoDaddy, but some hosts are harder to use C5 with than others. There's invariably a way round, but if you're not comfortable with php, you might want to try a host that does support C5. You should be able to find some recommendations on here, indeed concrete5 offer their own optimised C5 hosting for not much money.

Hope that helps

Many thanks - I got it to work by creating the php.ini file that was described in the thread you cited above. I've sent in a request to Godaddy to support C5 in their Apps library. Other hosts that support C5 have it in Scriptalicious but Godaddy use Fantastico as their app package so its probably not on, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

This link gets me into a loop of trying to log in on the site. Has it changed?
