error when backing up

Hello. I am trying to create a backup using C5. I was able to do it awhile ago OK but now I get the error message.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/gccham01/public_html/updates/concrete5.4.2/concrete/libraries/backup.php on line 123

- I am trying to backup the database before I do an update to C5. I am currently running 5.4.2

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, as ambitious as the dashboard backup is, once you get a site that is a bit older/bigger, it doesn't have enough time to successfully complete on your typical shared host. I don't know who your hosting provider is, but typically they provide a management interace(cPanel maybe?), where you can perform a database backup, which is what the concrete5 dashboard performs.
