Exactly which Concrete Folder do I Copy to go to LIVE server?

Hi there,

I am sure this is an easy answer but I want to get it right first time so am asking as once I know I will be able to replicated for all my new sites in the future.

I have used Bitnami Stack to create my first offline site. Bitnami has created its file structure to the concrete folder as follows:

C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5\htdocs\concrete

As I now want to go live (following the excellent How Tohttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/installation/moving_a_site)... Which Concrete Folder do I copy??

? C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1
?? C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5
??? C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5\htdocs\concrete

Sorry that this is confusing but I expected it to be in one folder.

Many thanks for your help and advice.

The third one: C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5\htdocs\concrete

Assuming that's where you went to build / edit the site, that is the one you would move.

To be more precise, I believe you need to put the CONTENTS of the bitnami/concrete5???/apps/concrete5/htdocs/ folder into the root folder on your live server. The 'concrete' folder that's inside the 'htdocs' folder only contains the 'core' files.

Hi mhawke,

Thanks so much for your answer.

Yes, it does seems so. When I looked at this yesterday morning for a couple of hours it seems that the: simply by copying the: C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5\htdocs\concrete didn't include everything that I needed. I ended up having to copy - as you suggested/advised the whole of the: C:\Bitnami\concrete5-5.6.3.1-1\apps\concrete5\htdocs Folder as this contains the actual required files. I hadn't realised that the above path was just the core files so thanks for that explanation.

It has been a bit of a task getting my head around the file structure of this software as it seems to have a 'concrete' folder within a 'concrete5' folder within another 'concrete' folder [this time called: concrete5-5.6.3.1-1] - not sure if this is just Bitnami? Obviously there is also an updates folder as well.

Thank you for your advice in sorting this out you helped confirmed my suspicions.

Have a good day...

Yes, Bitnami adds their own complexity to an already confusing file structure but it looks like you have it correct.

Thanks for your added confidence.
Once I have this done once correctly I will be able to replicate with all the other sites.
