Failed upgrade to 5.6.0.2
Permalink
For some reason the upgrade to 5.6.0.2 failed to complete. I did make a backup, but login in as admin results only in a disappointing screen (attached).
How can I get back to the 5.5.2.1 version?

What happens when you visit /index.php/tools/required/upgrade and start the upgrade process?
To get back to 5.5.2.1
edit your config/site.php file to remove the last line
Then sign into your site and run the database restore facility..
EDIT.. If your 5.5.2.1 was an update from an ealier version then you should EDIT the site.php file and change the 5.6.0.2 to 5.5.2.1

This works! The site says to be in 5.5.2.1 however the dashboard is 5.6
like.
Is it wise to start the upgrade again from scratch?

No,
Many people have had issues trying to upgrade to 5.6 with many failing to complete,
Fresh installs of 5.6 seem to be more reliable,
I would advice you to only upgrade if absolutely necessary and only then when a stable upgrade is available,
If you restore your database to the previously saved one your dashboard should be re-instated as in 5.5.2.1..
Good Luck..

I will absolutely do so. Simply be conservative in this respect.
