GoDaddy Deluxe Hosting Cannot Install Concrete5
Permalink
Hi everyone,
since 3 days I'm trying to run or install C5 on my GoDaddy Deluxe Hosting Package. This package offers unlimited hosting so I've now main domain and a couple of hosted domains.
The applications I used on each of these hosted domains are different.
In general everything else works fine except C5.
According GoDaddy’s manual installation tutorial of C5 I have to activate
.
Although PATH_INFO is activated (see screenshot #1). To do this I've placed a php5.ini file at the root of the particular hosted domain (same place where index.php lives) and at the webroot of my hosting plan (Linux).
The first page installtion looks fine (screenshot #2-6). But after I fill out all details it starts getting weird from the second installtion page.
Also on the second installation page the url changes like this: mywebsite.com/mywebsite and gives me false success message!
When change the url manualy to mywebsite.com/index.php/login I alway get the same false message (screenshot #7-8)
I've searched the web for any possible solution and till today success. So far I've read these articles:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/7505/enabling-search-engine...

Hi synlag,
whatever I do nothing seems to work.
I did a clean installation starting by deleting the whole folder for the hosted domain, cleared the database, tried with older version of concrete5.5.1 and all the looks like the same issue.
I would appreciate any help!
Thanks anyone in advanced.

Hi Blenderite,
thanks for the hint but still no success.
I've put this .htaccess in the root of my domain (same place where the index.php lives) better result.
Same file on the webroot, no better result! (see screenshot)
Same file on both webroot and domain folder, you what happens!!!
I really regret to have gone to GoDaddy!!!!

I have heard a lot of bad things about GoDaddy. This is another one to add to the list.
How long have you been signed up with GoDaddy? I would say try to get a refund, but their refund policy stinks badly:
8. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
Cancellations before 30 days. If you cancel the Services within thirty (30) calendar days of purchase, you will receive an in store credit refund of all fees paid, less the one year cost of registration of any domain name registered as part of a free domain name promotion, at the then current value.
Cancellations after 30 days. If you cancel the Services any time after thirty (30) calendar days from the date of purchase, you will receive a pro-rated in store credit refund of the remaining portion of fees paid for the Services, less the one year cost of registration of any domain name registered as part of a free domain name promotion, at the then current value.
Shame on GoDaddy. Other services like Arvixe give you a 60 day money back guarantee.

Hi,
I think a cancellation will it be!
What you guys think of BlueHost or which hosting provider do you guys recommend?
Edit:
Just bought package from iPage.com
My C5 which I tried since 4 days now to run on GoDaddy is up an running like a charm.
The Moral of the story: You GoDaddy = You GoDeadly!

Why not use the hosting from the c5 core crew?
I think than you dont even have to worry about upgrading your site, WIN-WIN
:)

Ah, sry, the don't offer hosting anymore, but I'm sure they can point you to a good hoster.
Good for you!!!
it seems like there is something wrong with your path and the database needs to be empty.
What happens if you drop the database and try to reinstall?
