I did a clean install and created a new clean MySQL database and the website is loading sooooo slow (4-5 second load times). Does anyone else have this problem?

Is that under phpmyadmin or whatever or should it be a setting in godaddy, and what hosts do you recommend for future projects, I am only a intermediate web developer
I looked through phpmyadmin and i don't see a variable just simply labeled query logging :(
how do i easily turn this feature off

Head over to your concrete5 dashboard and goto Sitewide settings -> Debug.
On the right is the logging box. Make sure the second tick box is unticked.
And while you're there, make sure the cache is enabled...

and the site is still slow, not horrible but 4-5 second initial load, and 2 second load thereafter... I am just scared I am going to loose him users because of this speed...
any other tricks?

if query logging was on, you should go into the database via phpmyadmin and look for that logs table and clear it out.
it was already off, i think godaddy just sucks, i had equal slow load times with joomla, wordpress and concrete5 leading me to think its the mysql stuff? I don't know where to find a good affordable host...
I host several sites with GoDaddy. Make sure your in production mode not development. That will also help in your speed.
Unfortunately, with any shared hosting platforms, the more people that are on them the slower they will be. Fact of life.
I have been pretty happy with a 4 second load of a site with godaddy, but lets face it, the customer is the one that will make the final call. Joomla and Drupal on godaddy are just as slow or slower.

thanks for all the help, what are the load times for hosting a server here at concrete5? I think it might be worth it next time I get a customer...
Having just found this post today, in 2011, and not knowing if the second tick box is the same as it was in 2009, can anyone tell me what to untick.
Currently under Sitewide Settings>Debug> Logging there are two options:
CHECKBOX - Log Application Exceptions
Saves application exceptions to logs.
CHECKBOX - Log Emails Sent
Enables saving records of emails being sent out. This will save records even if actual email delivery is disabled on your site.
Thanks,

Do you have query logging on? That should certainly be off and you should clean out the logs table in the database as it makes things huge fast.
