HostGator - activate Published website. . .

I did look thru existing postings and didn't see this mentioned. I've probably missed something real basic.

This is a pro bono project and I was given hosting on HostGator be a reseller. concrete5 was recommended to me and I installed it via cPanel. I chose the folder CMS for c5.

I've just started customizing the content and I "Published" my changes. I thought the prelim. site would then show up, but what I see is a directory tree coming back from the Apache server. If I go to the website with /CMS at the end the website does appear.

I've seen some "tweaks" that might fix this, but don't care to hose over what work I've done so far :-)

I've looked into moving the c5 install on the HostGator site but would almost rather do a complete uninstall and start from scratch in the correct directory.

Is there a "best practice" for where to install c5 on a HostGator site? I don't mind having this site as one where updates arfe made then published live, not rocket science here :-) BUT, it would be good to know a more automated way to build the site in a Dev/Staging area then migrate in mass to Production.

Any pointers appreciated.
