How do I downgrade from v5.4.0.5 to v5.3.3.1
Permalink
I'm having trouble with a MySQL error on the 5.4 version and another thread suggested that I ask my Host to upgrade MySQL to the latest version. My Host, Netfirms, says that the version of MySQL is at v5.0 and they can't upgrade it now. So, I'm considering down-grading back to v5.3.3.1. Is this easy to do? If so, what are the steps to do it safely.
Thanks!
Thanks!
i would switch hosts as well, unless you made a sql backup before the upgrade, your kind of out of luck
Thanks for the tip ThemeGuru. I set up my HG account this evening and I'm VERY impressed with the level of support I received getting everything installed. And, my C5 installation is responding WAY faster than I've seen on either Netfirms or IPage. (I hope you get your beer money...I did enter using your affiliate link provided).
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Nice.
Probably did.
Glad to hear everything went well. HG is probably the best host currently (unless you want bigger, then I dont know), plus they keep growing and their support is crazy good!
Cheers,
Thomas

We have a client on Netfirms and I just called to ask about this... was on hold for about a half hour, so I'm planning to switch already to a different host if the client ok's it.
However, I finally got through and asked about the latest version of MySQL. He said our account was in the queue to be migrated to the newest hosting platform which will include:
MySQL 5.0.9.1
and
PHP 5.2.12
I don't know if this is what we need for C5.4.1.1, but since this thread is open on my browser, I thought I'd post this info here to save anyone the half-hour wait. Worst support I've seen in quite a while!

Hmm, I can't find a requirement listing even when I Google "Concrete 5.4.1.1 requirements"
http://www.concrete5.org/developers/downloads/
That was the first place I went. where do you see the PHP and MySQL requirements on that page? I am unable to locate them.
I even did a search for the terms "requirement," "PHP" and "MySQL" and that page didn't turn up anything. If you see something I'm not seeing, please let me know... seems like the requirements should be really big and bold somewhere obvious.
There re no real requirements- but that page sorta lists he optimal conditions
It doesn't mention what version of MySQL which is what this thread is about. I thought I was missing something.
My client used netfirms for the longest time and it caused was pain!
Check out hostgator. Their reliable and cheap.

(thats my affiliate link. that way I can buy beer ;))
Plus you want to use the latest concrete5 version any way to prevent security breaches as well as using some of the newer addons which rock!
