I put my site on maintenance mode and is locked out. Need Help!

After putting on maintenance mode, it locked me out. I tried searching for help and found the link:http://yoursite.com/index.php/dashboard/system/permissions/maintena...

I was able to login, but when prompt to the maintenance mode change, the site searches for updates and never finishes. So, I can't even disable maintenance mode. Clicked on dashboard and all links on the upper right, got a redirect, but still the system searches for updates.....and never finishes.

Please help!

You can disable the update via the config site.php. Put this in site.php and try again.

define('ENABLE_NEWSFLOW_OVERLAY', False);
define('ENABLE_MARKETPLACE_SUPPORT',   false); //not sure if this one is needed

I went into config/site.php and those codes already exist in the file. I am not sure what you want me to do?
