Image dissappeared in File manager after upgrade
Permalink
I have just upgraded from 4.2.2 to the latest version of C5 and all the images that were in the filemanager are no all gone.
They all show up on the front end and i can see the files on the server via ftp. They even all show in the database in the FileVersions table.
Can anyone help?

Did you incrementally go up versions from 5.4.2.2 to 5.6.3.1 or just straight there? I've run into some funny behaviors trying to jump to many versions like that before.
I guess the follow on question is at which step of the upgrade did the images disappear?
I went incremently up to the next highest sub version of 5.5.2.1, 5.6.0.1, 5.6.1, 5.6.2 etc
All a bit strange

what php version is your server running because the requirements jumped from 5.2 to 5.3
is it just the thumbs that are missing?

Hi,
I have tried this and nothing.
All I get is No files found. in the file manager. I can see the paths etc in the DB and also I have all the files permissions set to 777. Never seen this before. I will have to set the project up again and then look to see at what point the upgrade stopped showing images.

I have just reinstalled the back up and tried the process again.
The files disappear when I upgrade from concrete5.5.2.1 to concrete5.6.0.2
All the images are there showing on the front end but all I get in the files managers is No files found.

According to the download notes, you should be able to go straight to 5.6.3.1 from 5.5.2.1. Maybe that would skip past your problem.
There were some bugs in the upgrade scripts a few versions back, but I don't remember anything to do with lost files.

Still no idea why my files are not showing up in the file manger yet they are on the site?
Problem solved with some help from the core team.
"The problem was with the file permissions. When the upgrade was complete the file manager would only allow you to see pictures that you uploaded yourself. I removed "file uploader" from the permissions for "search files in file manager" and my user was able to view all of the files"
