Install C5v8 almost from scratch
Permalink
Hi
I never made it to upgrade C5 to 5.7.5.8, so that I could use my new theme. Since it is a private site to learn Concrete5, I thought I might as well delete all and try to install the new version 8 manually (most bugs should only be upgrade bugs?). Server was first downgraded, but I upgraded it again to run PHP7 (should work?).
Here is what I did:
1. Via my host I reset the current database.
2. Via FileZilla I deleted all files and folders within the public_html folder.
3. I have the unzipped v8 on my desktop, so via ftp FileZilla I upload all folders and files in the public_html folder.
4. I go to my webpage and find attached error:

Thx, unfortunately I am not sure what that means and I definitely don't know what to do with that, could you give me a hint?
I looks like an issue on the server, so I need to go my host?

If I ignore and just choose a language I get to the next page and stop there, I dont know if the attached picture explains the issue better.
@sofc
I recommend contacting your web host support regarding this,

I was sure that C5 v8 was optimized for PHP7, but my host told me to downgrade to PHP 5.6, and then it works this time.

Strange. We have v8.0a4 running under PHP7 on our dev. server without any issues. It installs fine.
hmm, but them you also installed the extensions on the server?
I'm not sure what you are referring to. We have a full-blown hosting server as our develop server with 50 develop domains. we can change to different PHP versions for each individual site. We have not installed anything extra.
hmm, strange my host says its a C5 issue, blaming C5 to be hopelessly behind when it comes to PHP7 support, whereas Drupal is just so fantastic and up to date with PHP7...
I found a Stack Overflow question that sounds related to this:
