Install hangs on blank screen

After install my site hangs onhttp://www.mysite.com/index.php/install/-/configure/...

My database is populated with all of the tables and I am running PHP5.2 & MySQL5.0 on a Webair virtual server.

All files/folders for the install have been set with 777 write permissions.

The only thing I have noticed is that a site.php file is created in the config folder with 666 permissions and remains blank. I have to delete it and all db tables in order to attempt reinstall.

I'd love to try this CMS so any suggestions would be great.

I'm still reading up on this and assuming that my isp has the virtual server configured wrong. I cant get past the initial install screen successfully.

Any suggestions of what to try?

I can't help you directly, however it may be useful to post/attach phpinfo results for your server. This might give others a clue as to what is going on.

Just off the top of my head, I've run into weird problems occasionally with short_tags being disabled in php.ini. Not saying this is your issue but just an avenue to investigate.

I forgot to post the error I get in the browser after submitting the install setup is:

"Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error."

Also my PHPinfo is here:http://www.klohm.com/info.htm

Thanks again!!

I had a look around on Google and that error is all over the place, but with different fixes as well.

I would suggest having a chat with your host and seeing if they can help at all.

Might be a long shot but have you tried doing the install from another PC? Some of the results on Google seem to point to local config issues regarding that error.

Sorry I can't be more help!

I really think this is a PHP environment conflict. I'm just not sure which one to ask my ISP about.

try setting it up in wamp/mamp or a local lamp stack before you write off concrete5 because of your hosting account.

I use liquidweb, and if I had an app that just plain installed for over however many thousands of installs and for whatever reason it didn't work on their servers, then I would make it their problem and they would be happy to figure it out :).

It works man, I don't really know what to say.

Unfortunately I don't deal with server stuff(although I do have a thousand page apache book to work through) so I can't be of help with that error without googling it for you, which you've already done.
