Install Error (Jobs Directory)

Working through the install and have corrected a number of mistakes on my part but now I've got this error:
Error: Invalid Jobs Directory "/home/mysite/public_html/jobs"
I checked that the directory exists (has two files) and to make sure permissions were set to 755 (it was).
Any ideas why this error ??
