installation next to existing index.html

Hey,

i want to install concrete5 next to an existing website (just index.html). Where to install that visitors do access the index and not my unfinished cms? :)
Can I copy paste after the installation? Do I need 777 for this at the root folder?

I have a site with this set up, waiting for client to finish C5 in the background.

I set up C5 as normal, then uploaded an 'index.html' file and other files needed.

All in root folder with no particular permissions set.

All you see is 'index.html', but you can still log in and edit the CMS.
