Installation on Yahoo Server - 1st Ever Install - HELP!
I have tried to install Concrete5 via the Installation instructions (which are pretty bare bones I have to say), but most of it is "greek" to me, as it says....so I gave that up and tried to use Simple Scripts to install it. It is telling me I have to manually set up a database and I have done that (as far as I can tell) I am forced to use phpMyAdmin and I am pretty sure I have it set up correctly. I can see the database name in there that I set up, I can see there is a username with the permissions needed but Simple Scripts says that it cannot connect to the db. Is there someone who could walk me through this mysterious process? I am pretty skilled in most areas, but I am forced to use my clients web host Yahoo so something this simple is turning into a nightmare....
Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

mysqldatabase wizard- do you have the right username/pass?
Dont have that since I am using Yahoo hosting - there is no cpanel or mysqldatabase wizard, only phpmyadmin - and I had to install that even
Yeah I do have the correct login info
Yeah I do have the correct login info
the server is blocking the remote connection probbably,
all you need to do is upload the contents of the zip archive, (has the index.php in it) then visit where you uploaded it and proceed with the install

WHERE do I upload the contents to, the main root? Or do I have to specify a new directory to place it in? And if I put it in its own directory will the visitors to the website have to visitwww.www.yourwebsite/directorythatIputconcrete5... in?
Thanks,
Emily

you can stick it in the root, you can always move it later
