Installing add-ons
Permalink
I have just installed C5 5.5.2.1, purchased a theme, assigned it to my project and it all works well.
Now I'm trying to install add-ons. I selected 10 pcs from the Marketplace, and chose "Save for later use". Never found them again.
Did it all one more time, but then chose "Assign to project". Nothing happened. Still unavailable under "Add functionality" etc.
Tried with one file, and other files.
ONCE I was lucky, and I have now received "Designer Content" in my list of licenses to assign. But none of the other add-ons are listed.
I do see old add-ons and all my themes.
I've searched the forum, and can see that adding add-ons is problematic for many.
Where do I start?
Environment:
# concrete5 Version

# concrete5 Packages

# concrete5 Overrides
None
# Server Software

# Server API

# PHP Version

Is there a chance that your site is for some reason no longer connected to the community ? Check by using the Extend concrete5 – Install, update or download more themes and add-ons. line from your sites dashboard and simply try downloading an add-on. Either it will download properly or it will say you need to reconnect to the community.
If it says reconnect than theres your problem.

That was it! I can not understand how this has happened, and why the system didn't tell me this when I logged in and out yesterday. But this morning the system told me that the site had changed the URL fromhttp://domain.no tohttp://www.domain.no....(!)
I think something is fundamentally wrong with my setup, or I simply do not understand this community setup.
If I go tohttp://www.concrete5.org/profile/projects/...
(My Concrete5 Sites), I can see ONE projecthttp://domain.no
If I go tohttp://www.concrete5.org/private/sites/"identifier"... (Project details), I can see TWO projects. Bothhttp://domain.no ANDhttp://www.domain.no
The require separate logins.
Is it supposed to be like this? How do I know that I install the add-on to the correct project? Should I just delete thehttp://domain.no (first project)?

No you should only have one project page per domain. I think possibly you connected the site and then enabled pretty urls, or made some other url associated change and connected twice over ?
A quick way to tell which project page is which go to your site and download an add-on or theme. Whichever project page this new add-on or theme ends up on is the one you want to keep.
Deletion of the first or unused project page should be no issue as any associated add-ons will return to your available add-ons and a record of all your purchases or downloads is retained herehttp://www.concrete5.org/profile/orders/... if ever there was any kind of issue. On the other hand if the page isnt bothering you just assign your downloads to the proper project page and ignore the other.

After re-reading that.... Do you have 2 C5 accounts ?

No, I have not enabled pretty URLs and reconnected.
I have turned on the two settings for keeping the site non-public while I make the design changes to the template (maintenance mode and Site Access -> Private).
I have only ONE C5 account. I always use the same id and password on concrete5.org.
However, I did once register the user ID of my project under "Management Team". Maybe thats what screwed it up.
I have ONE project in TWO locations. The content of the two domains/locations seems to be exactly the same. I just updated to 5.6 from the admin panel of my hosting provider, and I can see in the project admin panel that both project locations have the new version. So it seems to me that this is the one and same project, just with and without www. And that is how it should be.
But why can I install updates from one location and not the other? Why do they require separate logins?
I'm utterly confused and wish to get down to ONE version. But how?

To go down to one project page you will need to delete your old project page. To do this go to the older project page and open it. On the right side you will see a few options including edit project. Click edit project and it will take you to the edit project options. There is a delete button to delete the project page(screenshot attached) When you delete the project all add-ons associated will go back to your available licenses and you can re-associate them with the proper project page.
If you click on the project it will show all the add-ons towards the bottom that have been assigned, and at the very bottom, a drop down to assign new licenses if you have any.
