installing concrete 5 no public domain folder
Permalink
Hello
I'm revamping the website of a client and chose to do it with concrete 5. I want to install concrete 5 on her server without destroying her current site ( on a temporary address) and then when everything is all done and approved by the client switch the old site for teh new one.
I started to follow the installation steps but i don't seem to have a public domain folder on my server.
I have an httpdocs folder where the old site is located.
Where do i new to install concrete 5?
thanks for the help

Is their hosting on Linux or Windows? Do you not see a public_html folder at all?
if not and all of the old site content is in this httpdocs folder then you could try setting up a folder inside this such as " testing001004 " or something similar and then copying all of the installation files & folders to there.
As long as you are then able to locate this folder in your browser window by going to the address -"www.www.clientssite.com/testing001004... " folder and see the Concrete5 installation screen then you are good. Make sure you have created your database as well first.
