Internal Server Error installing 5.5.1 on DreamHost sub-domain

I downloaded the latest version today and attempted to install to a new domain but received the error above.
I checked the error log on the server but the only entries are
[Wed Mar 14 18:48:26 2012] [error] [client xxx] Premature end of script headers: index.php, referer:http://kids.marsfoundation.org/...
[Wed Mar 14 18:48:26 2012] [error] [client xxx] File does not exist: /home/mfadm/kids.marsfoundation.org/internal_error.html, referer:http://kids.marsfoundation.org/...
The databases tables were all created but I am not sure what else to look at to determine what went wrong, we are hoping to install this on a second domain soon.

Im getting the same issue. Ill try and find out what is wrong. It sounds like it could be an issue with the mod_rewrite with mine, but who knows. Ill let you know if i have any luck.
Did you install using simple scripts or manually ?
To be honest, i just installed it from the stable release. I just grabbed the zip, un-packaged it at the location, set up the databases and started the install. All the checks seemed to work without a problem and the install initialized. It just seemed to stop at dashboard (during the install process) then come up with a 500 error.
Thanks for helping, but for some random reason it worked this time. (After about 5 different tries). I cleaned out the directory over ssh and unzipped it again and its fine this last time. No idea what caused it. Ah well , all i can suggest to the original poster is "keep trying".
