is it possible to install and addon manually? (not via packages folder?)
Hi all
I bought an addon and tried to install on a site but it failed.
I suspect it is because I use a shared C5 install across all my C5 sites - they all share the /concrete/ and /packages/ folder. [ I've contacted the developer but no response so far - it's been a week :( ]
So... I was wondering, can I install the addon manually? That is, bypassing the packages folder and dropping files where they need to go, and installing the DB.xml somehow?
Or am I opening up a can of worms :)
Cheers

If you don't put the files where they are supposed to be in the packages folder, you will probably need to hack a lot of code to make it work. having said that, it is theoretically possible that the component parts of a package can be relocated to the root directories (5.6) or /app/ directory (5.7), then blocks, pages and themes installed through the dashboard.
