Latest upgrade fails with blank white page

Hello Concrete5 members,
When I update my Concrete5.7.5.2 to Concrete5.7.5.6 my website does not work anymore and all I now get no matter what I type in the address bar is a blank white page.
What can I do to fix this? I tried this fix :www.www.mysite.com/index.php/ccm/system/upgrade...
but that doesn't seem to change anything.
I still have ftp access but would like to avoid rewriting the whole site.
(Also, 2nd question, could someone tell me in which concrete5 ftp folder I can find my imported images? I'd like to download them locally for safekeeping)
