Licences when multiple companies involved in project

Hi,

Some time ago, another company in town built a C5 site with a custom theme and a bunch of free and purchased add-ons. The site was connected to the marketplace and the licences from the developers account applied to the project.

The client now has had us do some work on the site, including a new purchased add-on. We have purchased the add-on and done the work. The client is happy.

How do we apply the licence to the project?

It's a valid question, and one that probably doesn't come up too often. One way would be to create project under your own account, and because you are the owner or purchaser of the add-on, this keeps the license under your jurisdiction (for lack of a better term). You wouldn't want to share the license with the other company, just as they wouldn't want to share theirs with you.

But from a legal and ethical standpoint, there is really nothing stopping you from not applying the add-on license to a specific job, but it does create a method for developers to know what add-ons are attached to what projects.
