Locked Out with Email Login Enabled
Permalink
I've been locked out of an installation after having enabled users to log in with their email accounts.
The login page does not return an error saying "invalid user name". It simply does not move beyond the login page—as if it is a simple refresh. I cannot move beyond it by typing a url (such as site.com/index.php/dashboard) and editing toolbars are not visible, despite that I am logging in with the email tied to the master account.
At first I thought it was because C5 does not allow users to have periods in their email addresses. I work for a government organization where this is standard convention (i.e. my.name@azgs.az.gov).
So I dove into the database and changed the value for the Administrator's email, which had periods in it, to one without periods. Still no change to the login problem, however.
Any help?
Other (potentially) useful info: I had enabled single pages to use the view.php file that goes with my theme (changed the values in site_theme_paths.php). I almost wondered if it was somehow overruling all single pages (such as the dashboard pages) to be my theme's page, but I doubt this is the case, as I disabled these overrides and still nothing changed.

you can try to send your password to your email inbox. Click on forgot password. But correct your email address in your db first to the one you've initially used with your c5 setup
Otherwise you can still look the two last posts here:

I will look at the thread, but I haven't lost the password. That's not my problem.
The problem is that the login page simply refreshes, and does not move to the dashboard. There is no "invalid username or password" error.
The password was never lost. The only change I can think of was when I switched the installation to take email addresses as logins instead of usernames.
