Mod_rewrite - 404 Error

This is an installation moved from an old server. Everything is up and running, except enabling the mod_rewrite gives me a 404 Error (not found). The module is enabled (confirmed via <?php phpinfo(); ?> file).

Any ideas?

Problem Solved. AllowOverride was set to None in apache config.
