Move demo to my host

I recently tried Concrete5 using the free demo. Now I want to save what I have done and move it to my own host. How? I know how to install C5, but do I have to recreate all those pages?

you probably have to contact Franz and his crew directly. The people in the community don't have any access to the source (files & database) of a demo site!

Hi Linday,

We don't recommend folks get too attached to their trial sites-- it's simply intended as a way to get people acquainted with our CMS, and the trial only lasts a few days.

However, if you send me a private message with a link to your demo site (yoursite.c5host.com) I'll make an archive of it that you can use to get set up at your host.

The process involves importing the database and altering a few configuration files. I'll include directions for this, but if you need assistance, your hosting provider should be able to help.

Thanks Matt,

I'll just do it as a rebuild -- I need the practice anyway. I'll set up with my own host or local for future demos.

Hi denisegsi,

Sure, send me a Private Message (click my profile pic, click View Profile, then click Send Message) with a link to your demo site and I'll pack it up and send you an archive and some very basic instructions on how to set it up.

If you've got a hosting account at one of our recommended Budget Hosting companies, we can put you in touch with someone at those companies who can help:

Otherwise, importing the demo site on your server is up to you. If you're not comfortable moving files and importing a database, you may need to ask your web host for help or hire someone from our Jobs board:
