Moving files from Concrete5 to computer

I seem to be missing a piece of the directions on how to get to my concrete5 files so that I can download them to my computer and use FTP to get them to my new host. I have all the proper information to get into my host and have already tinkered with that a bit, but I haven't the slightest how to get to the files created by the add-ons I have purchased/downloaded and work I have done. Can someone please give a COMPLETE step-by-step process for this.

It depends on what kind of files you are talking about. If you are referring to the files that you have uploaded via the File Manager, then you would need to copy the Files folder. The way C5 is built makes it difficult to find specific files since it places each file in a separate set of folders, really annoying.

If you are talking about the add-on files, then the are in the packages folder.

I am referring to moving the entirety of files besides the 3 folders that shouldn't be copied over. I know I can get them using ftp, but I am not sure how you set up a database user on concrete5, nor what the host would be considered. I know the FTP process is slow but that is not an issue.

Have a look at my Backup Voodoo addon. Even if you don't use it, the docs pages and support pages contain plenty of help and related links on this sort of thing.
