Multiple-ish sites and listing academic publications
Permalink
Hello,
I have a couple of things I'm wondering about in regards to a Concrete5 setup. I'm currently setting up a site for my grad school research group, and I've run into two problems:
1. What is the best way to share data between two C5 installs?
The idea is to make a site for the research group, and then another site for the professor leading the group. They should be separate, but there will be some overlap between the two sites. For example, a particular research project would be listed on both sites but the courses the professor is teaching this semester would only be relevant on his site.
How could I do this so both sites can share some data, and keep some for itself?
2. Does anyone know of a way to display academic publications in a nice way?
This has been a huge headache. Apparently there is almost no software to solve the seemingly common problem of storing publications (papers, theses, etc.) in a database and displaying them in a nice layout. Basilic is the only thing we've found, and installing that is such a pain that our environment doesn't really allow it. But feature-wise, that's exactly what we're looking for.
This is not really a C5 specific question, but someone might know something.
Thanks.
