Need help starting out

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I'm brand new to all of this and could use the kindness of strangers! I just got a web host (MacHighway) and downloaded concrete5. But I can't figure out how to access the admin area so I can start editing my pages. (During the Quickinstall, I was never asked to log in or anthing.) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I should add that the pages that come up do not have a toolbar or buttons at the top to let me switch into edit mode or go to my dashboard. Thanks.

normally, you should see some tiny letters in the footer of the page reading "log in to site", you can also access viawww.www.yoursite.com/concrete5/index.php/login/... orwww.www.yoursite.com/index.php/login/... depending on whether you installed on your root or on subfolder.
Welcome to concrete5!

Thanks so much for the answer! That info solved part of the problem. I also found out that the installer I used was buggy (it skipped the part where it asked me to create a login and password!). I finally got someone on the phone at my web host who understood what had happened and gave me the sage advice to use a different installer. Thanks for the welcome to concrete5!
