Need help with eccomerce add-ons

Hi there, ive started building my own eshop, locally with XAMPP, for my degree thesis. So far so good, even though my experience is an accumulative of....few days, but today ive ran into a problem. See im developing an eshop(mobiles, laptops, tvs, gadgets) and went looking for a FREE eCommerce add on. Few things came up and someone suggest ecwid. I was excited with it until i found out i can only have 2 product categories on their free plan...Sooooo any alternatives?I need to have 4-5 categories, its a thesis after all and i dont want to have 2 categories and just products, unorganized. Any tips for the new guy?
Have you looked at Paypal?
Im sorry as i said i luck knowledge and experience, how is Paypal gonna help me build a catalog with products?again excuse my ignorance
Also the only eCommerce add on i knew(from using joomla on another project)is opencart. and from my understanding it cant be used with concrete5
No u cannot use opencart.
Cannot u not try to place products in 2 catagories?
In the UK a well known company lists 'laptops', 'mobiles' and 'gadgets' in one gatagory. TV's and other related stuff in another.

yeah that was my final solution. to have category1(laptops,mobiles,gadgets), category 2(video game consoles and tvs). i just thought it might looked...ugly
If u can cope with it, ecwid would be a slightly better bet and not so hard to set up.
Good luck.
Good luck.
it actually looks awesome. of course i cant compare it with anything other besides opencart, but so far looks good. i pasted the code on my site(gave 3 red x with a small error) but everything works good. i made a few products and the software automatically places them in my site. if i was a in the cms business id definitely buy a subscription
I have package in progress that can use both ecwid and paypal in a 'shoping theme' I'm developing for C5. Can't show just yet, but will when ready in a few days.
Good luck with your project.

Community Store is the go to e-commerce solution for Concrete5. It is very solid, full of possibilities, and extremely well supported. It is also totally free.
You can find it here:https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store...
On this page, you can find a few examples of websites using it:https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store/issues/...
And the wiki will give you useful information about it:https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store/wiki...

oh this looks nice!does it have the ability to create multiple product categories(ecwid free account can have only 2)? and is it easy to setup?for ecwid all i had to do is copy paste some html and refresh to see the new products
it offers product categories (called product groups) and it is not limited in any way.
It installs just like any other package in Concrete5, so if you know how to do it, it's a breeze.
It offers dashboard pages to enter your products and other stuff, and it has 2 blocks to show your products on your pages: one for single products and one for product lists, including a product search engine.
It is easy to use and has plenty of options.
