New install 5.4.1 - Admin users unable to access sitemap or users

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I have just installed my first fresh 5.4.1 install.

For some reason if I create and admin user, they are not allowed to view the sitemap or Users pages:

"You do not have access to user search. This setting may be changed in the access section of the dashboard settings page."

I never had this happen with earlier versions or versions upgraded from a previous version to 5.4.1.

Any ideas on what is going on and how to fix.

Thanks

sounds like some of your permissions got changed with the upgrade. just go to dashboard , sitewide settings, access, and then you should see permissions. if that doesn't work go to dashboard sitemap and look at the permissions there.

It is a fresh install. Nothing has been added to the site at all. I just went in and checked permissions and it looks fine.

Starting to look like a bug to me.

I think I will post it in the bug tracker.

Thanks

Not sure if it was always like this, but I had to add the Admin group to Dashboard > Sitemap > Access then click add group. After that it worked great.

Seems like admins should have this level of access by default though. Easy fix/workaround.

This is an easy workaround.

But I am positively sure that the previous 3 versions of C5 didn´t need this setting in order to allow administrators to access the site tree.

This is definitely a new requirement.

I don't see that in my installs. If you post this to bug tracker please let us know exactly how you're installing this (ie: this isn't a simplescripts/softaculous install or something)

thx

Thanks that workaround resolved the issue.

I am sure also that i did not need to do this for admins previously either.

Franz I have posted this to the bug tracker. The site is installed on a standard Unix shared hosting environment that has happily run quite a few other C5 sites. I installed the site manually not through simplescripts/softaculous.

Thanks
