New Install of 7.5.6, Won't change Themes

I did a fresh install, new database, sample content. I downloaded the Fruitful Theme, (also tried this with Stucco), hit activate - and nothing.
I've used Concrete 5 for several years... This I've never seen.
Suggestions?

Ok, applies some of the theme, I think - but the title, search, and navigation disappear. Very strange.

The themes you are switching between do not share the same area names. This will cause some content not to be displayed.
Example:
- You add content to an area called "Left Column" in Theme A.
- When you switch to Theme B that does not have an area called "Left Column", the content will not be displayed.
- Switching back to Theme A will display the content in "Left Column" again.

Thanks. Sure enough, the sitewide navigation and search areas are named slightly differently.
Apparently the older and more mature themes I've used were more consistent. Time for me to learn a lot more about making themes.
