No pictures! Red X where pics should be
Permalink
Hi,
I'm new to Concrete 5 and trying to set up a very simple site with the plain yogurt theme except there is one problem - all of the pictures, including those that were preloaded for the slideshow - aren't showing up. When I upload a new pic it shows as a white block with a red x. What am I missing here?
Thanks!
Elizabeth

I don't think all the files for concrete5 were added correctly... re-upload the /concrete directory, also, Internet Explorer kinda sucks ;)
Yes, IE does kind of suck! I just took down everything and reloaded a new theme and still no dice...
The red X can show up if the Jpeg image is not saved in RGB mode (IE definitely won't show it if it was saved in CYMK mode)
Also, some instances may require the image is resized to match the block?

Hmmm, I tried with a file that was saved in RGB mode and the same thing happened (red x). I've tried with jpeg and other file extensions...hopefully something will work today because this is driving me nuts!
Thanks to everyone for the advice!

Can you please post a link to the site.
I only see 1 image thats not showing, thats the header one, and its pointing to /files/, a folder, not to an image,
I thought to add an image all I needed to do was go in and Edit the block, select an image and click on Update, but from your comment it sounds like I am missing a step. Does the image need to be added to an additional folder?
what block are you using?
Where it says "Add to Header" I clicked on there and selected "Add Block", so that's where I've gone in to add the image. What's funny is when I play around and delete the block and add another one - a "Content" block and add the picture, the picture shows up in the preview but not on the site.
